With big smiles and beaming spirits, the buncee team is proud to announce that buncee for Edu was selected as one of the American Association of School Librarians “Best Apps for Teaching and Learning” of 2015! This award means so much to the team as we continue with our goal to improve content creation in every classroom. Of course, winning this award is only made possible because of our astounding teachers and students, and their feedback, ideas, and support.

The AASL annually selects the year’s 25 best apps for teaching and learning. Based on criteria four years in the making, recognized apps must, “foster the qualities of innovation, creativity, active participation, and collaboration,” and be, “user friendly to encourage a community of learners to explore and discover,” as AASL’s Jennifer Habley explains. The winning apps are then placed into the following 5 pedagogical categories: Books, STEM, Organization & Management, Social Sciences, and Content Creation, the category in which the buncee for EDU app was recognized. Other notable winners are Kahoot, Skitch, Digital Public Library of America, Touch Van Gogh, My Incredible Body, and Algodoo.

As the roles of libraries and librarians continues to change, we are greatly honored to receive this award. Librarians in many parts of the nation are becoming leaders in media and technology education and are, often times, spearheading their school’s edtech projects and policies. Therefore, it is with great honor that buncee receives this ward.

In addition to thanking the AASL, we’d love to thank several of our favorite libraries and librarians from our buncee fam! Here’s to you, Shannon Miller, Heather Lister, Laura Fleming, Chad Lehman, the entire Riverhead Library System, and the Queens Library of the New York City Public Library system! We look forward to continue to serve libraries, librarians, and the wonderful world of education!

If you’d like to bring buncee to your library, contact us through the form below and we’ll be in touch!
